Jill Barber Author Biography
Jill Barber is a folk/jazz singer-songwriter and children’s author from Vancouver, British Columbia where she lives with her husband Grant Lawrence and their two young children. After a string of award-winning albums, Jill’s first book in 2011 was Baby’s Lullaby. Jill is currently working on her third book for children and recently released a musical record of folk songs for all ages with her brother entitled The Family Album.
Sydney Smith Illustrator Biography
Sydney Smith studied drawing and printmaking at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax. As a student he realized he enjoyed illustrating children’s books. He is the illustrator of The Dread Crew, Mabel Murple, There Were Monkeys in My Kitchen, and Sidewalk Flowers. In 2015, Sidewalk Flowers won the Governor General’s Award for Illustrated Children’s Books and New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Book of the Year.
